Franz Parzinger

Franz Parzinger (* 1955/56 in Traunwalchen ) is a German local politician ( CSU ).

Career

Parzinger grew up in Traunwalchen. His father was the last mayor there before it was incorporated into Traunreut . He completed an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician. After completing his military service with the Air Force in Erding, he trained to become a state-certified electrical engineer with a four-semester course in Munich. In addition, he passed the master's examination in electrical engineering. After working for a company for nuclear radiation measurement technology in Munich, he switched to the measuring device manufacturer Heidenhain in Traunreut, where he worked as a technical editor and project manager.

He was co-founder of the Junge Union in Traunreut and eight years local chairman. In 1990 he moved into the city council of Traunreut. He held the office of First Mayor of Traunreut from May 1, 2002 to April 30, 2014. In 2008 he was confirmed in office, in the local election on March 16, 2014 Parzinger got 38.23 percent of the vote, Klaus Ritter ( Free voters) as the strongest of four challengers 25.71 percent. In the runoff election on March 30, 2014, the Traunreut master optician Ritter won with 54.4 percent of the vote. After the surprising defeat, Parzinger announced his withdrawal from city politics on March 31, 2014. On May 22nd, 2014 Parzinger was awarded the honorary title of "Former Mayor".
