Rapture of the Deep is the 18th studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple . It appeared in November 2005 as the first of the band on Edel Records (worldwide) and its sub-label Eagle Records in the USA .

history

Like its predecessor, the album was recorded with producer Michael Bradford , this time from March to June 2005 in Los Angeles . Clearly Quite Absurd is a ballad . The title track was released as a single in 2005. The album reached number 10 in the charts in Germany and number 81 in Great Britain .

reception

The website Allmusic awarded 3.5 out of 5 stars. Bret Adams wrote that the album was only slightly behind Bananas . It is a good example of how many veteran artists have retained their "creative vitality". The album was voted # 24 in 2005 albums by Classic Rock magazine .
