Origin and meaning

The recordings for Machine Head found in December 1971 in Montreux in Switzerland using the mobile Rolling Stones instead studios. The album was released in March 1972.

Machine Head contains the title Smoke on the Water , which is one of the most famous works of rock music. This release also includes the titles Highway Star , Lazy and Space Truckin ' , which are now considered classics of the genre .

With the album, the single Never Before was released; the B-side When a Blind Man Cries is not included on the original album.
