Purpendicular is the 15th studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple . It was released in February 1996 by BMG Records (worldwide) and in April 1996 by CMC International / Prominent Records ( USA ).
history
The album was the first with the new guitarist Steve Morse ( Dixie Dregs ). The title is a play on words with "perpendicular" and the band name. The album was recorded at Greg Rike Productions in Orlando , Florida . In the period from February to October 1995, the recordings were overseen by the sound engineers Darren Schneider and Keith Andrews. The album was more experimental than before.
reception
The Allmusic website awarded 3 out of 5 stars. Glen Miller called the album the "most adventurous" album in Deep Purple's career. He particularly praised Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming , saying it was "the best song the band has had in years".
