CMC International
CMC International was an American independent label that was founded in 1991 and existed until 2007.
history
The label was founded in 1991 by Tom Lipsky and produced mainly bands and artists in the areas of classic rock and classic heavy metal , grazing on directions such as hard rock , glam metal and AOR . This happened at a time when most other labels were focusing on grunge and alternative rock . 1995 began a partnership with BMG Entertainment . In 1999 BMG took over the majority, Lipsky remained a minority stake.
In 2000 the label became a division of Sanctuary Records . Lipsky became President of Sanctuary Records North America. The label's existence ended when the Universal Music Group acquired Sanctuary in 2007.
Tom Lipsky became President of the Loud & Proud Division of Roadrunner Records .
