You Keep on Moving is a song by British hard rock band Deep Purple that was released on the album Come Taste the Band in 1975 and later as a single.
admission
According to an interview with ex-Deep Purple organist Jon Lord, You Keep on Moving was most likely created during the sessions for the album Burn in autumn 1973, but there was no place there due to the rejection of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore . Finally, after Blackmore's departure, the song made it to the album Come Taste the Band as the final track . In a shortened version, the song was released as a single with either Dealer or Love Child .
Appreciation
You Keep on Moving is the highlight of the album and the last classic of the band in the 1970s. It is considered the funk rock-heavy counterpart to the hard rock classic of the previous line-up, Child in Time , to which it is reminiscent of its structure and structure. David Moskowitz pays tribute to the song in his work 100 Greatest Bands of All Time: A Guide to the Legends Who Rocked the World ; he describes it as inspired by Motown harmonies and equipped with soulful organ playing.
Live performances
Deep Purple performed the song live on the Come Taste the Band tour in late 1975, and released it on the album Last Concert in Japan , which was only released in 1977 after the band split up.
Cover versions
Cover versions come from ex-Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes with Rata Blanca and Black County Communion .
