review
On the SWR 4 website , the album was praised, the band had "produced a new milestone in rock music" and was "musically and technically at the highest level".
The German magazine Rocks wrote that producer Bob Ezrin “understood exactly” what the band was about. Now What ?! sounds “better than any Deep Purple record of the past decades.” Here follows “the sound of the intention of the music, which is still powerful and compact”. The primer was provided by the "indeed innovative riffs that formed the guitar and Hammond organ into a threatening unit", and yet had "swing and transparency". In conclusion, the reviewer notes that Now What ?! "A more than worthy legacy" if it were the band's last studio album. The album received the top grade (6 points).
