Franz Seinsche (born April 10, 1904 in Bonn , † December 12, 1987 in Essen - Heisingen ) was a German Catholic priest and author of several books for young people .

Life

Seinsche was ordained a priest before World War II. In 1941 he was recruited as an Air Force soldier in a writing room in Dresden . After he asked for it, he was able to celebrate the service in the court church. The provost there asked him to act as a spiritual guide to the Dresden Kapellknaben , since the former prefects Alois Andritzki and Alfons Duschak were interned in the Dachau concentration camp because of their critical attitude towards National Socialism . In the next few weeks he looked after the boys' choir. Here he was already telling them from his previously published books "Fire torches over the Eifel Heights", "Boys in War" and "Blinkfeuer over the Baltic Sea". After the Nazis ordered the church boarding school to be closed, only sporadic contact between Seinsche and the boys' choir was possible. After the war, the author wrote his books "Heiko" and "Der Sängerkrieg von Willhausen", inspired by this period.

After the war, Seinsche worked as a religious teacher at various schools in Essen. In addition, he was head of Catholic religious education at the teachers' seminar in Essen and the chaplain of the children's home at Schellenberg Castle in Essen- Rellinghausen . From 1972 to 1982 he was the chaplain at the Marienhof estate in Hattingen- Oberelfringhausen, which is run by nuns . At the same time at the beginning of the 1970s, he came into contact with the choir boys again through a fellow priest. In the next few years he visited them several times and also helped materially with things that were difficult to get in the shortage economy of the GDR at that time . He spent his old age in the retirement home of the parish of Sankt Georg in Essen- Heisingen . There he died on December 12, 1987 after a serious illness. He was buried in the cemetery in Hattingen-Oberelfringhausen near his former place of work Marienhof.
