Franz Wachter (born December 3, 1902 in German Schützen ; † June 5, 1992 ibid) was an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). From 1949 to 1953 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Franz Wachter was born as the son of the farmer and businessman Josef Wachter . He attended primary school in German Schützen and then worked as a farmer. Wachter also worked on his parents' farm and was indispensable in the Second World War . Most recently, Wachter was deployed in the Volkssturm .

Franz Wachter was married to Rosa (born August 26, 1906, † October 29, 1940) for the first time. The marriage had three children. In his second marriage he was married to Pauline (* January 24, 1920, † March 20, 1999).

politics

Wachter joined the ÖVP in 1945 and was involved in establishing the ÖVP in the Oberwart district. He was local party leader of the ÖVP farmers' union and from 1954 to 1967 mayor of Deutsch Schützen .

Wachter represented the ÖVP in the state parliament from November 4, 1949 to March 19, 1953. Both his father Josef Wachter and his brother Felix Wachter were also members of the Burgenland Landtag.
