Franz Waltz

Franz Walzer (born February 2, 1919 in Vienna , † December 2, 1975 in Baden , Lower Austria ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Franz Waltz learned after visiting the elementary school and the high school the profession of hairdresser . From 1948 to 1954 he was a teacher of his profession at a vocational school . In 1958 Walzer was elected master of the guild of Viennese hairdressers.

Walzer's political career began in 1954 when he moved into the Vienna Landtag and local council for the ÖVP . Within his party he belonged to the economic union . Out of this, he was in 1960 as chairman of the section Commercial in the Vienna Chamber of Commerce selected. After five years, he was elected chairman of the trade section in the Federal Economic Chamber in 1965. In 1968 Walzer was elected chairman of the Vienna Business Association.

In March 1970, after around 16 years as a member of the state parliament, Walzer became a member of the Federal Council . He belonged to this until his death in early December 1975. Walzer was buried at the Hietzingen cemetery .
