Franz Weber (politician, 1910)

Franz Weber (born August 11, 1910 - November 21, 1989 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1965 to 1975 Weber was district chairman of the 19th district of Döbling in Vienna .

Weber worked as a car mechanic and was involved in the union at a young age. From 1930 he was also politically active. After the Second World War, Weber worked as works council chairman at Gräf & Stift between 1948 and 1956 and was then union secretary from 1956 to 1965. He was also a district councilor in Döbling from 1949 and between October 28, 1965 and November 11, 1975 held the office of district chairman of Döbling. After his death, Weber was buried on November 30, 1989 in the Vienna Central Cemetery . The residential complex built on the site of the former Gräf & Stift automobile factory was named Franz-Weber-Hof in his honor in 1993 .
