Franz Weinack

Hermann Franz Weinack (* 1845 in Halle an der Saale ; † October 7, 1915 in Goslar ) was a German history and portrait painter from the Düsseldorf School .

From 1863 Weinack studied painting at the Dresden Art Academy . In 1867 he moved to the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Until 1878 he was a student of Wilhelm Roßmann , Julius Roeting and above all of Hermann Wislicenus , whose close, long-time studio employee he became in 1875. Weinack helped Wislicenus paint the murals in the Kaisersaal in Goslar , a task that spanned several years. Weinack lived in the Goslar half-timbered house Claustorwall 23 with Wislicenus and his daughter.
