Bob Glanzer

Robert E. Glanzer (born September 13, 1945 in Huron , South Dakota , † April 3, 2020 in Sioux Falls , South Dakota) was an American politician ( Republican ). He represented the 22nd district in the South Dakota House of Representatives .

Glanzer grew up on a farm near Huron and later became a bank clerk who was responsible for agricultural loans. Glanzer co-organized the South Dakota State Fair in the 1970s.

On January 10, 2017, he took the seat in the House of Representatives and was re-elected in 2018. He represented the 22nd district, which included Beadle County and Kingsbury County .

Glanzer died on April 3, 2020 at the age of 74 from the consequences of a SARS-CoV-2 infection. He was the fourth known victim of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States in the state of South Dakota. He left behind his wife and two children.
