Franz Wurmb (actually Franz Wurm , born July 23, 1806 in Neumarkt im Hausruckkreis (Upper Austria); † October 10, 1864 in Vienna ) was an Austrian doctor and homeopath .

Life

Wurmb studied medicine in Padua and at the University of Vienna . After completing his doctorate with the title De diuretecs (1831), he began to work as an assistant to the doctor Franz Wierer in Vienna, but ended this position after he had got to know homeopathy.

His endeavors to do his habilitation as a private lecturer at the University of Vienna and to give lectures on homeopathy, however, were not crowned with success.

Together with Philipp Anton Watzke , Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Fleischmann and Clemens Hampe , he founded the Association of Homeopathic Doctors for Physiological Drug Testing in 1859 and was co-editor of the Austrian Journal for Homeopathy .

Together with Watzke he founded the Homeopathic Hospital in Vienna- Leopoldstadt , of which he was director from 1850 to 1862.

Until at least 1844 he appeared in the records of the University of Vienna and the Austrian Journal for Homeopathy as Franz Wurm ; he added a "b" to his name later.
