Franz Xaver Strauss

Franz Xaver Strauss (born February 11, 1898 in Trauchgau ; † July 27, 1966 in Munich ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Strauss attended elementary and advanced training school and then worked mainly in agriculture. He was a soldier in the First World War and then entered the service of the Bavarian State Railways . He was an employee of the Kolping family and the Christian trade unions. After he was taken into protective custody in July 1933 and August 1944, he was accepted into the upper middle-class career at the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1945 . He was an executive member of the board of directors of the Federal Railroad Social Welfare Office in the Munich district and a federal railroad official.

In 1933 Strauss was a member of the city council in Pasing for the BVP . From 1945 to 1948 he was an honorary city councilor in Munich . He was a founding member of the CSU, its local association chairman and later district association chairman. On November 6, 1961, he replaced the late August Winkler in the Bavarian state parliament, to which Strauss was a member until his death. His successor was Hans Schreiber .
