Halch is a municipality and a village in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Ostallgäu .

geography

location

Halbch is located in the Allgäu region and borders on the Upper Bavarian region of Pfaffenwinkel . The cycle paths of the Romantic Road and the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path run through the village . Halch is also connected to various long-distance hiking trails , e.g. B. on the Maximiliansweg , the hiking trilogy Allgäu and the castle park circuit in the Allgäu .

The altitude is between approx. 743 m above sea level. NHN (near Schlöglmühle on Premer Lechsee) and 2082 m above sea level. NHN ( high plateau of the Ammergau Alps ).

history

Until the founding of the forerunner churches

The area of ​​Halch was part of the Rentamt München and the Landsberg Regional Court and was part of the Hohenschwangau rulership, which has been part of Bavaria since 1567. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the municipal edict of 1818 created the municipalities of Buching and Trauchgau in the area of ​​what is today half of the municipality.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1976, the previously independent communities of Buching and Trauchgau were merged to form the new community halch.

On January 1, 1980, the community-free area of Fronreitener Forst was dissolved and the smaller part (467.28 hectares ) was incorporated into the community halch . The larger part of 1398.40 hectares came to the neighboring community to the east of Wildsteig in the Weilheim-Schongau district .

  • 1961: 2513 inhabitants, of which 1299 in Trauchgau and 1214 in Buching
  • 1970: 2797 inhabitants, thereof 1446 in Trauchgau and 1351 in Buching

Halbch grew from 1988 to 2008 by 279 inhabitants or about nine percent. Between 1988 and 2018, the community grew from 3,186 to 3,469 by 283 inhabitants or 8.9%.

Mayor has been Johann Gschwill (non-party voter association Buching) since May 2014; he was confirmed in office for a further six years on March 15, 2020 with 89.0% of the votes.

Municipal council

The election on March 15, 2020 had the following result:

  • Non-partisan voter community Trauchgau (ÜWT): 8 seats (51.54%)
  • Non-party voter community Buching (PWB): 8 seats (48.46%).

The turnout was 65.0%.

Economy including agriculture and forestry

In 1998 there were 13 employees in agriculture and forestry, 960 in manufacturing and 38 in trade and transport at the place of work. In other economic areas, 264 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions.
