Franz Ziehl
Franz H. Ziehl (born April 13, 1857 in Wismar ; † April 7, 1926 in Lübeck ) was a German bacteriologist and professor in Lübeck.
In further development of the work of Paul Ehrlich , he established a carbolic acid fuchsin - staining for the detection of acid-fast rods (such as mycobacteria , the causative agent of tuberculosis ), by Friedrich Neelsen has been modified and now in microbiology as Ziehl-Neelsen stain is called.
