Franziska Henze

Franziska "Tita" Henze , married Hassler (born August 21, 1931 in Harsum ) is a former German and Swiss table tennis player . In the early 1950s she was one of the ten best players in Germany. In 1956 she moved to Switzerland and acquired the right to play in this country.

Germany

Henze played with the club TTC Blau-Weiß Harsum from 1947 to 1956 in the women's league. In 1947/48 she won the mixed competition at the German youth championship in Lauterbach together with Klaus Wilke. Several times she was Lower Saxony champion in doubles with Martha Behrens (later Martha Wilke).

Two appearances in the German national team are known. In September 1951 she got the honor point in Bremen in the 1: 9 defeat against England. In the same year she won her game against Denmark in Neumünster.

In 1951 and 1952 Henze was ranked eighth in Germany.

Switzerland

Franziska Henze has lived in Switzerland since 1956. There she married and then played nationally and internationally for Switzerland under the name Franziska Hassler . In 1959 and 1962 she was Swiss individual champion . In 1959 she represented Switzerland at the World Cup in Dortmund, and she was also nominated for the European Championships in 1960 and 1962 .
