Franziska Lang (actress)
Franziska Lang , née Franziska Stamitz (born July 9, 1746 in Schwetzingen , † February 4, 1800 in Munich ) was a German soubrette , dancer and theater actress .
Life
Franziska Stamitz trained to be a tragic lover and made her debut at the Munich Court Theater in 1776 . In 1770 she married Franz Lang, the French horn player at the Court Opera House. She worked both as a dancer and as a soubrette in acting and singing, but after 1786 she no longer appeared as a dancer. One of her most famous roles was "Ariadne" in the then popular duodrama Ariadne auf Naxos by Georg Anton Benda . For the first performance in Munich in 1779, she designed her own choreography .
The actress and singer Katharina Lang is her daughter.
