The Frauenberg is a 728 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Forest in the southwest of the city of Grafenau .

Despite its low height, it is quite a prominent elevation, as its conical shape makes it stand out from the mostly dome-like mountains of the Bavarian Forest. The Kleine Ohe (Grafenauer Ohe) breaks through the stake here in the Elsenthaler Leite . The spruce predominates on its flatter northern and eastern slopes , while the steep slopes in the west and south of the Kleine Ohe are dominated by deciduous forests. In this area, where red beech , sycamore and summer linden dominate, the 19.5 hectare Frauenberg natural forest reserve, designated in 1978, is located at an altitude of 460 to 650 meters .

From Grafenau, a path leads past stations of the cross to the Brudersbrunn pilgrimage chapel. It is located in the middle of the forest north of the summit. The chapel was built on the site of a predecessor destroyed in 1803 in 1842, and a memorial chapel was added in 1952. The baroque miraculous image from 1704 was stolen in 1969 along with votive images and angel candlesticks. Then you get to the lookout stone, which offers a distant view to the south.
