Frauke Weiss

Frauke Weiß (born April 15, 1946 in Laage ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

After graduating from elementary school in 1960, Frauke Weiß graduated from high school in 1964. Between 1964 and 1966 she worked as a skilled chemical worker. This was followed by studies from 1966 to 1969, which she completed as a graduate engineer for plastic technology (FH). Between 1969 and 1991 Ms. Weiß worked as a production planner. From 1992 to 1995 she was a consultant for the development and support of women's associations and clubs in Saxony-Anhalt. Between 1996 and 1998 she was the managing director of the Landfrauenverband Sachsen-Anhalt e. V.

Since 1993 Ms. Weiß has been a board member of the Association for the Professional Advancement of Women in Saxony-Anhalt e. V. She is Protestant and single.

Frauke Weiß joined the CDU in 1972. She has been a city councilor for the city of Halberstadt since 1974 and also carried out various functions at local and district level. She has been a city councilor since 1990. Since 1994, Ms. Weiß has been chairman of the CDU city council group in Halberstadt. Between 1995 and 2006 she was district treasurer of the CDU in Halberstadt. Since 2007 she has been a member of the district council in the Harz district .

In April 1998 Frauke Weiß was elected to the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt for the 3rd electoral term, to which she also belonged in the 4th electoral term. In the 5th and 6th electoral terms, she moved back into the state parliament via constituency 14 ( Halberstadt ). She is chair of the Committee on Petitions and a member of the Eleventh Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (Garbage) and the Committee on Regional Development and Transport.

Honors

On November 25, 2019, Weiß was honored with the Order of Merit of the State of Saxony-Anhalt for her decades of voluntary work in Halberstadt and the Harz district as well as her commitment to the state of Saxony-Anhalt .
