Fred Englert (born August 20, 1943 ) is a former German soccer player . The striker played seven games and scored two goals for Rot-Weiss Essen in the Bundesliga in the 1969/70 season .

Career

Englert played in the 1965/66 series with Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the amateur league Hesse and moved to the 1966/67 round for Freiburg FC in the then second -rate regional football league South . For the team from Möslestadion additionally came Karl-Heinz Bente and Helmut Siebert . Englert made his debut on the third match day, September 4, 1966, in a 2-1 away win against 1. FC Pforzheim in the Regionalliga. The attack in the Brötzinger Valley consisted of Siebert, Bente, Englert, Klaus-Peter Jendrosch and Gerd Klier . At the end of the round, the man from Aschaffenburg had scored five goals in 17 league games and the FFC had finished seventh. After only one season in Freiburg, he signed for the 1967/68 round with 1. SC Göttingen 05 in the North Regional Football League . With the team coached by Fritz Rebell , he celebrated the runner-up at the end of the round and thus entry into the Bundesliga promotion round. For the runner-up he had contributed 14 goals in 32 league games. In the promotion round he came in the first four games against SV Alsenborn (3: 0), Hertha BSC (0: 1), FC Bayern Hof (3: 1) and Rot-Weiss Essen (0: 1) to use after a dismissal no longer to come into play. In his second Göttingen season, 1968/69, he came fourth with the 05ers and had scored twelve goals in 22 games.

In the summer of 1969 he made the leap into the Bundesliga , he switched to Rot-Weiss Essen . In the 1969/70 season he played seven games in which he scored two goals for the team from Hafenstrasse. He made his Bundesliga debut on December 20, 1969 under coach Herbert Burdenski in a 3-0 home win against TSV Munich 1860, with the debutant getting two hits against Petar Radenković . In the course of the round, however, he was unable to assert himself against the powerful offensive competition for Erich Beer , Willi Lippens , Helmut Littek and Herbert Weinberg .

After the season, RWE and Englert parted ways, the striker moved back to Hesse, he played again for Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the 1970/71 season, but now in the Regionalliga Süd. He scored eight goals in 33 league appearances for the team from the Schönbusch stadium , but was unable to prevent relegation to the Hessian amateur camp.

Englert has made a total of 104 regional league appearances and scored 39 goals.
