Fritz Rebell (born May 7, 1905 in Heusenstamm ; † October 12, 1990 ) was a German football player and coach .

career

player

The TSV Heusenstamm from the Offenbach district was - at that time under the name "FSV 06" - known from the mid / late 20s under the name "Rebellmannschaft" - with Fritz, Anton, Karl and Reinhard four members of the local soccer family wore the jersey of the Club, which in 1928 for the first time succeeded in the Südmain district championship and thus participation in the promotion round to the district league Main. In 1931 the "Rebel" team rose to the Main-Hessen district class and played in the top division for a year in 1931/32 . When Fritz Rebell and his teammates won the district league championship in 1933/34, he also took part in the promotion games to the Gauliga Südwest .

Trainer

Rebell took over his first coaching position at the East Hessian national league club FV 1910 Horas . He led the club from the baroque and episcopal city of Fulda into the top Hessian league in the 1946/47 season. He then worked in the 1949/50 season at SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Oberliga Süd as a coach. Fritz Rebell then took over the coaching position at 1. SC Göttingen 05 for the first time .

From the round 1951/52 to 1954/55 he played with Göttingen in the Oberliga Nord . In his second year with the black and yellow team from Jahn Stadium, he finished fifth with the team and Günter Schlegel took the top scorer's crown in the north with 26 goals. After one year guest appearances in East Hesse with Borussia Fulda in 1955/56 in the 1st amateur league Hessen and 1956/57 with BC Augsburg in the Oberliga Süd, he looked after Viktoria Aschaffenburg for two years from 1957 to 1959 . In the two rounds in the stadium at Schönbusch, Rebell established the talent Egon Horst in the Oberliga Süd on the middle runner position .

After taking over the coaching position at Borussia Fulda, he led the Hessen in 1960 to the 2nd League South and held the league membership with the Borussia until the league re-division for the round 1963/64. Fulda qualified for the Regionalliga Süd and Rebell made it to 1.SC Göttingen 05 for the second time. Here, too, he achieved promotion in the first year - 1963/64. From the 1964/65 season he played with his team in the Regionalliga Nord and finished fifth with the promoted team. Rebell managed to win the runner-up with Göttingen three times in a row from 1966 to 1968. In 1966, Göttingen failed to qualify for the Bundesliga promotion round at 1. FC Saarbrücken .

In the promotion round in 1967 it was only enough to win against competitors Alemannia Aachen , Kickers Offenbach , 1. FC Saarbrücken and Tennis Borussia Berlin and the rebel team had to be content with 6:10 points. In attempt three, Göttingen did not get beyond fourth place in 1968, but had successes against SV Alsenborn (3: 0), SpVgg Bayern Hof (3: 1) and Rot-Weiss Essen (1: 0) . In the 1968/69 round, Rebell and his team missed the runner-up again by two points, and for the 1969/70 round they accepted the offer from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen .

Football Bundesliga, 1969/70

The 64-year-old was expecting a change in personnel in Bremen. With Diethelm Ferner , Max Lorenz , Karl Loweg , Bernd Rupp , Fred Schaub , Rolf Schweighöfer and Gerhard Zebrowski , he lost seven players, with at least Ferner, Lorenz, Rupp and Zebrowski having good names in the Bundesliga. The compensation should take place through the commitment of Egon Coordes , Eckhard Deterding , Heinz-Dieter Hasebrink , Bernd Lorenz and Bernd Windhausen . After the 0-1 defeat on March 14, 1970 at 1. FC Kaiserslautern , Rebell was 12th with 24:30 points, dismissed on March 16, 1970 and replaced by the newcomer Hans Tilkowski .

Finale

Fritz Rebell, who had passed the soccer teacher examination in 1952, returned to Borussia Fulda in the Hessenliga in 1970 and ended his coaching career there in 1973.
