history

FV Horas, or FVH for short, is a traditional Fulda club that can look back on more than 100 years of club history.

1910-1944

In 1910 the club was founded as FC Britannia Horas . In 1919 the club was renamed the First Horas Football Club 1910 . The club has had its current club name since 1924. For the first time, the footballers from North Fulda made it into the top class in 1931 and played in the district class in the 1931/32 round.

1945–1955

After the end of the Second World War , the FV Horas experienced a sporting high with the outstanding striker and later national player Richard Kreß . Via the Kurhessenliga (1945/46) and the Landesliga Fulda in the 1946/47 round, the path led to the later Werder coach Fritz Rebell in the Hessian upper house. There it came in the round of 1947/48 to the local derby against the red-blacks of Borussia Fulda . Horas was relegated in twelfth place, Borussia took fourth place. Three years later, Horas succeeded again in promotion to the 1st amateur league in Hessen. Again, the relegation was unavoidable after one lap. Richard Kress's attack scored 76 goals, but the defensive conceded too many goals with 93 goals. In 1948 the table tennis department was founded in addition to the football division. In 1949 the Fulda association becomes city and district champion.

When the immediate resurgence in the 1952/53 round was narrowly missed, Richard Kreß, the "Blitz von Horas", left the club and moved to the Oberliga Süd at Eintracht Frankfurt . On April 29, 1953, he had made his debut as an active member of FV Horas in the German national football team of amateurs . After losing the striker who could not be replaced, Horas was only able to throw the bargaining chip on the hard court "Am Aschenberg", which is considered "impregnable", for a few rounds.

On June 17, 1954, one day after the opening of the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland, Eintracht Frankfurt played a friendly game in Horas. The game ended in front of 2,500 spectators with 8: 2 (4: 1) for the guests from Main; Kreß scored three goals for 1: 1, 2: 1 and 3: 1 for his new club.

1956-1969

After the Hesse championship of the A-youth in 1956, the promotion to the 1st amateur league Hesse again succeeded in 1957. The derby against Borussia was due to their simultaneous promotion to the 2nd League South in the round of 1957/58. Horas finished ninth as a climber in 1958. In the second year of membership in the upper division, the north Fulda team advanced to fifth place in 1959 and Borussia Fulda was relegated from the second division. In the third round in 1959/60, however, the FVH fell again with 26:42 points. The non-playability of the "Ascheberg", which was not available for this group due to renovation work, also contributed to this. Things were going downhill with Horas. In 1965 the group league was missed.

1970-1989

In 1972 the club house with changing rooms and a club restaurant was built on the club grounds at Am Aschenberg. The clubhouse has since been rebuilt and modernized several times.

In terms of sport, the club found itself in the A-class in 1975 and reached its lowest point in 1988 when it fell into the lowest division (C-class). In the years 1984 to 1988, the club's old men won the city championship five times in a row. In 1988 the club's youth department was awarded the Sepp Herberger Prize for its special services .

1990 – present

A highlight in the club's history was the renewed friendly game against the first division club Eintracht Frankfurt on August 14, 1990 in Horas. The occasion was the 80th anniversary of the FVH. The game against a Fulda district selection ended in front of 2,800 spectators 10: 1 (3: 0) for Eintracht. The German national player Andreas Möller , who had become soccer world champion in Italy five weeks earlier , contributed three goals .

In the 1994/95 round succeeded in returning to the district league, which was even followed by promotion to the district league in 1998.

In 1998 the youth department of the FVH received an award from the DFB .

In 2003 the first team went back to the district league and in 2005 they were promoted to the district league again. In the 2007/08 season, the FVH took 6th place in the district league (today's name group league). In 2011, he was relegated to the regional league with 18th and penultimate place.

Departments

In addition to the football division, the club also has a successful table tennis department and a popular sports department for women.

Club crest

The club crest consists of two red circles on a white background. The inner of the two circles is highlighted in bold. From left to right there are the three red letters “FVH”.
