Horas is a district of the East Hessian city of Fulda .
geography
Horas is located northwest of the city center of Fulda. In the north it borders on the Aschenberg district and the Glaszell district and in the east on the Niesig district .
history
Horas was first mentioned in a document in 1250.
We only know about the first chapel in Horas - according to a note by Pastor Hausmann in the oldest baptismal register - that it burned down around 1250. A second chapel is mentioned in 1674. A visitation report by the Archdeaconate Fulda mentions a chapel with the title of St. Wendelinus in Horas. From 1594 Horas was a subsidiary of the parish Frauenberg. In 1877, the Wendelinus Chapel was threatened with closure due to its dilapidation. Then it was decided to build the St. Bonifatius Church, which was consecrated in 1885 and Horas was raised to a parish in 1888 .
In 1939 the previously independent community of Horas was incorporated into the city of Fulda.
