Lüdermünd is a district of the East Hessian city ​​of Fulda .

geography

The place is nine kilometers northwest of the city center on the Fulda . In the vicinity of the village the Lüder flows into the Fulda. State road 3143 runs on the northern edge of the village .

history

The area was first settled in the 8th century. In 1397 the village was first mentioned in a document. The place name was "Lutermunde" in 1429, "Luttermunde" in 1510 and Lüdermünd only from 1790 onwards.

The Catholic branch church of St. John the Baptist was built in 1891/92. The nave has three window axes, the retracted choir in the east is closed on three sides and provided with supporting pillars. The fortified tower from the Middle Ages stands south of the choir .

Reorganization

On August 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Lüdermünd was incorporated into the city of Fulda by means of state law as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
