Zell is a district of the East Hessian city of Fulda .
geography
The district is located southwest of the core city on the Giesel .
history
It was first mentioned around 1160. In 1282 the village was first mentioned in a document. 1787 belonged to the Abbey of Fulda , Cent Oberamt Fulda ( Propstei Johannesberg ). Parish affiliation: daughter church of Johannesberg
In the middle of the village is the St. Judas Thaddäus Chapel , which was built under the Johannesberg provost Eugen von Bastheim (1755-1758) in 1757 and consecrated by Prince-Bishop Adalbert II von Walderdorff (1757-1759) . The band 1937 by the cultivation of a Sakristei to the chorus a window axis extended to the west. In 1952 the roof turret of the chapel was moved over the entrance portal . The Ortweg , an old road , which was used in prehistoric times, leads through the village . Today, Zell is connected by traffic from the district road 101 with the state road 3079 and developed.
Incorporation
On August 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Zell was incorporated into the city of Fulda by means of state law as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Zell's next long-distance train station is the Fulda station . The village does not have its own train station. Zell can be reached via the federal road 27 , exit Bronnzell, if you drive through the districts of Johannesberg and Zirkenbach . Due to the good local transport structure in Fulda, Zell can be easily reached by bus line 3.
