Niederrode and the hamlet of Reinhards are part of the eastern Hessian city ​​of Fulda .

The district is five kilometers west of the city center on the Gieseler Forest .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1116. The manor and landowner were the Fulda Monastery . The village was the Schultheißerei Sickels of centering Office Fulda .

Parish membership: Branch of Haimbach . The Reformation was unable to establish itself in the Fulda bishopric . The place remained Catholic and belongs to the parish of St. Markus (Haimbach) in the diocese of Fulda .

1787 belonged to the Abbey of Fulda , Cent Oberamt Fulda .

On December 1, 1954, the neighboring community of Reinhards came to Niederrode.

On August 1, 1972, Niederrode was incorporated into Fulda by regional law as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
