Dietershan is a district of the city of Fulda in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

geography

Dietershan is located in the south of the Fulda-Haune-Tafelland . It is located around 5.8 km north-northeast of the city center of Fulda and 1.5 km (as the crow flies ) west of the Fulda district of Bernhard . Other localities in the area are the Fulda districts of Lehnerz in the south, Niesig and Gläserzell in the south-west and the Petersberg districts of Marbach in the north-northeast and Steinau in the south-east. Located to the east of the Mühlberg (approx.  435  m ), it is surrounded on three sides by forest and is traversed by the Haune tributary Bernhardser Wasser .

history

Catholic Church of St. Anna

Dietershan was first mentioned in 1165. A first chapel is mentioned in 1574. Today's parish church was built in 1888. In 2015 Dietershan celebrated its 850th anniversary in the village .

As part of the regional reform in Hesse on August 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Fulda by state law.

Townscape

Dietershan is traditionally dominated by agriculture over centuries and in the old village center with typical regional half-timbered buildings built. Construction sites were designated for in-house development in new building areas.

Dietershan can be reached via the district road  120, which branches off the eastbound federal road 27 between Bernhards and Lehnerz , leads as a spur road to the northwest and ends at the entrance sign. At the nearby Fulda-Nord junction, the B 27 passes under the federal motorway 7 . The Dietershan tunnel of the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg with a train station in the Fulda core city runs past the village to the west in the eastern flank of the Mühlberg .
