Freddie Moore (born August 20, 1900 in Little Washington (North Carolina) , † November 3, 1992 in Bronx , New York City ) was an American jazz musician ( drums , washboard , vocals ).

Live and act

Moore appeared on a minstrel show early in his career ; he then played in circus and theater bands. He met James P. Johnson in the 1920s , and around 1930 he met King Oliver . In the following years he worked a. a. with Sidney Bechet , King Oliver, Art Hodes , Eubie Blake , Bob Wilber , Charlie Creath , Wilbur Sweatman , John Kirby , Conrad Janis , Mezz Mezzrow , Sammy Price , Tony Parenti and Roy Eldridge . He also directed a trio with Pete Brown and Don Frye from 1933-37 . In the 1980s and 90s he played in various bands in the New York area, as well as drums and washboard. Most recently he played in Bob Cantwell's New Orleans Band , which performed at the Red Blazer Too club (West 46th Street) in Manhattan. He had his last appearance there with Cantwell's band on his 92nd birthday.
