Freddy Birset
Freddy Birset (born January 20, 1948 in Genk ) is a Belgian singer.
Life
Freddy Birset was born in Genk, the son of a Flemish butcher and a Walloon nurse. For many years he performed in bars and street cafes all over the world before he worked as a guitarist in the orchestra of pop singer Rocco Granata . In the 80s he finally turned to the interpretation of French chansons .
Piet Roelen has been his manager since 1995, which made it possible to work with Helmut Lotti , who is also managed by Roelen. Freddy Birset accompanied Helmut Lotti on numerous concerts. Both recorded the duet Et Maintenant / What Now My Love in 2003, which came in at number 8 in the Flemish charts and was Freddy Birset's first single chart success. The album Souvenirs de France , which appeared in the same year and was also released in Germany, reached number 23 on the Flemish charts. The album Merci ma vie , which reached number 14 in Flanders, was even more successful .
