Frederik Louis Hviid

Frederik Louis Hviid (born June 25, 1988 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish film director and screenwriter .

Life

Frederik Louis Hviid, born in Copenhagen in 1988, graduated from the alternative film school Super16 at Nordisk Film Studio in Valby, Copenhagen in 2016. He previously studied at the European Film College in Ebeltoft.

During his time at Super16, Hviid made the short films War of Adil (2014), King (2015) and Half Man (2016). The latter won the Young Directors Award for best short film at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. He directed the last two episodes of the hugely successful Danish television show Follow the Money , which was also presented at the Berlinale in 2019 and later shown in the US and UK on BBC Four.

His action film Shorta , which he made together with Anders Ølholm , is due to premiere at the 2020 Venice Film Festival at the beginning of September 2020 , where it will be shown as part of the International Critics' Week.

Hviid lives in Copenhagen with his wife and two year old daughter.
