Frederik de Moucheron
Frederik de Moucheron (* 1634 in Emden , † 1686 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch painter.
He was the son of the painter Balthazar de Moucheron and his wife Cornelia van Brouckhoven. His father belongs to the Dutch merchant family Moucheron.
Life
Frederik de Moucheron trained as a landscape painter with Jan Asselijn and moved to Paris at the age of 22 . There he worked with Dirck Helmbreker . In 1656 he met Adriaen van Eemont in Lyon while he was on his way to Rome. After his return he settled first in Antwerp and in 1659 in Amsterdam. He has painted French , Italian and Dutch landscapes that are cleverly arranged but suffer from heavy, cold paint . Adriaen van de Velde , Johannes Lingelbach , Nicolaes Pieterszoon Berchem and others have provided them with figures.
He died a rich man.

His son was Isaak van Moucheron (1670–1740) a famous engraver and painter.
