Fredrik Jönzén

Jan Fredrik Jönzén (born June 13, 1978 in Uppsala ) is a former Swedish basketball player .

Life

Jönzén played for Sallén Basket in his home country until 1998 and then went to the United States . There the 2.08 meter tall indoor player was part of the Oklahoma State University team in the first NCAA division from 1998 to 2002 . He played 130 games for the university team in four years, Jönzén's best points he achieved in the 2000/01 season with 15 per game. In 2002, the Oklahoma Storm team secured the rights to Sweden in the draft proceedings of the United States Basketball League (USBL), but he then moved to the Italian first division club Oregon Scientific Cantù . In the 2003/04 season Jönzén played for the Spanish second division Cantabria Baloncesto SAD

At the beginning of the 2004/05 season he played for Cantùs league rival Air Avellino , he then moved to Olimpia Larisa in Greece in autumn 2004 . There he played until 2006 and then went back to Spain and strengthened the second division club CB Huelva. In 2007 Jönzén went back to his home country and played for Uppsala Basket . He scored 15.3 points per game for Uppsala during the 2007-08 season. After another trip to Spain (Union Baloncesto La Palma) he returned to Uppsala Basket during the 2008/09 season and played for the first division team until 2011.

Jönzén made 109 international appearances for the Swedish national team, after the end of his basketball career he moved with his family to the US state of California , the home of his wife.
