freequency (an artificial word from the English words free and frequency ) is a rock band from Ulm , which makes rock music for a primarily youthful target group. They are known for their appearances at the Stuttgart Youngster Ball, the Ulm scene star and, last but not least, as a band for the rock 'n roll service “factory”, which takes place every three months in Laichingen or one of its neighboring cities.

biography

Originating in the Swabian town of Laichingen, they have meanwhile made freequency known beyond the borders of the region. In 2005 they won the golden triangle from sound7.de for the best newcomer, came second at the Youngster Ball, scene star and voting for "The Dome" in Friedrichshafen. So far, freequency has played over 200 concerts. You can hear them at festivals such as the Balinger Rock Festival or the Owener Rock Night. In 2006 they were there for the first time at the Christmas Rock Night in Ennepetal. Freequency appeared with Kutless, Disciple, Crushead, Petrol, Allee der Kosmonauten and Blindside, among others. Her style is a mixture of punk rock and alternative , comparable to Superchick or Relient K , for example . The content can be assigned to Christian Rock throughout , but there are also musical elements of the crossover . In autumn 2008 the Stuttgart record label Ruuf-Records signed the band, shortly afterwards their current album "Up for a game, mate?"

In May 2010 Freequency was represented at the 2nd Ecumenical Church Congress in Munich . They played in the "backstage" as well as in the Olympic center .

In autumn 2010, Freequency announced that the group would disband in May 2011.

Content

freequency make no secret of their belief in God. For this, they have been criticized by the press in the past as well as loved by their own fans.
