The Freeth Bay is an 8 km wide side bay of Alaschejewbucht on the coast of the East Antarctic Enderbylands . It is located 20 km west of Spooner Bay .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). During the Thala Dan's research expedition as part of the same series of expeditions, the participants paid a visit to the bay in February 1961. It is named after the Australian politician Gordon Freeth (1914–1994), then Interior Minister of Australia.
