The free game European championship in 1958 was the 10th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from April 10th to 13th, 1958 in Berlin . It was the second free-game European championship in Germany.

history

Joseph Vervest from Antwerp once again underlined his outstanding qualities in the free game in Berlin. He was unbeaten for the fourth time as free game European champion. He caught up with his compatriot Clement van Hassel , who took second place. The German champion Siegfried Spielmann was also on the podium again , but he had to acknowledge the superiority of the Belgians.

mode

The game was played in two preliminary round groups with five players "everyone against everyone" up to 500 points. The top four in each group made it to the finals. Results of the eliminated players were not included in the final round and did not count towards the final ranking. Extended series were counted.
