Klausenhof open-air museum
The Klausenhof open-air museum is an open-air museum in Großherrischwand, a part of the municipality of Herrischried in the Hotzenwald . It is located in the Waldshut district in the southern Black Forest .
The Klausenhof dates back to 1424 and is one of the oldest Black Forest houses and one of the last remaining Hotzen houses . The Lindauer saw attached to it was first mentioned in a document in 1595 and was in operation until 1950. 1979–1981 the farm was moved around 200 m from its original location and converted into a local history museum.
The village blacksmith's shop, cottage garden, bakery and wagon house are grouped around the courtyard. With various events such as markets, hikes, music and readings and an open-air stage, a cultural leisure center has formed around the Klausenhof that cultivates the native Alemannic language.
