Masonic Temple of Ceres

The Masonic Temple of Ceres is located in the Scottish village of Ceres in the Council Area Fife . In 1972 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

The Masonic Lodge of Ceres was founded on May 29, 1761 as Lodge Ceres St John's with matriculation number 107. In the following decades it was renumbered several times. In 1852 the lodge activity was declared dormant and has not been resumed since then. The former Masonic temple built in 1765 then fell into disrepair and was used, among other things, as a chicken coop. The National Trust for Scotland ordered the restoration of the building. It has been used as a residential building since then.
