Freitas is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Freitas is part of the county Fafe in Braga District . The community had an area of 6.6 km² and 585 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the parishes Freitas and Vila Cova were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Freitas e Vila Cova . Freitas is the seat of this newly formed congregation.
