freitext is a German-language culture and society magazine with a focus on literature.

The magazine

freitext has been published three times a year in Hanover since 2003 , and has appeared twice a year since 2006. Until 2014 it was edited by the author Deniz Utlu . The name free text goes back to the philosopher and writer Bernhard HF Taureck . The magazine publishes literary, journalistic or scientific texts that deal with post-colonial, feminist and other time-critical topics. In addition to poems, stories and dramatic texts, photographs and illustrations as well as essays, interviews and reviews are printed. The authors published so far include Zafer Şenocak , Selim Özdogan , Mely Kiyak , İmran Ayata , Peter Glaser , Oskar Ansull , Abbas Maroufi , Murathan Mungan , Noah Sow and Daniel Kahn .

Permanent members of the editorial team are: Marianna Salzmann , Marcela Knapp , Mutlu Ergün-Hamaz , Sofia Hamaz and Sophie Elmenthaler , as well as Deniz Keskin (designer) and Mike Klesse (organization).

Events
