French River (also: Frontier Gut ) is a so-called ghaut ( gut ), an ephemeral body of water similar to a Fiumara , in St. Kitts , in the Caribbean island state of St. Kitts and Nevis .
geography
The river has its source in the South East Range to the south of St. Kitts, high on the slopes of Olivees Mountain . It used to mark the border between French and English settlement areas and its mouth forms the west end of Camp Bay , where the campus of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is also located in Saint Thomas Middle Island .
