Frida Kreipe (born January 15, 1894 in Lehe , † January 26, 1980 in Bremerhaven ) was a German politician and member of the Bremen Citizenship ( SPD ).

Family, education and work

Kreipe was the daughter of the teacher Chr. Aumann. She completed training as a teacher. In Lehe she worked as a teacher at the grain school until 1922. In 1922 she married the teacher and later rector Heinrich Kreipe (1892–1966) and therefore had to resign as a teacher, as married women were not allowed to teach because of the surplus of teachers. She then worked until 1933 in the social welfare of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO).

Her husband was a city ​​councilor for the SPD in Wesermünde from 1924 to 1933 . Her husband's commitment shaped her and so she had been a member of the SPD since 1924. In 1933 her husband was dismissed by the National Socialists and the couple - now in modest financial circumstances - were constantly monitored.

After the Second World War, the couple worked hard to rebuild the SPD. Her husband was back in the school service, most recently at the Lessing School .

Frida Kreipe was a member of the city ​​council in Wesermünde in 1946/47 and in the Bremerhaven city council from 1947 to 1951 and from 1955 to 1963 .
From February 13, 1947 (Bremerhaven became part of the state of Bremen) to 1955, she was a member of the Bremen citizenship for Bremerhaven. She was active in the committees and deputations for the issues of school and cultural policy as well as housing supply.
