Friedemann Spicker

Friedemann Spicker (born February 26, 1946 in Neuss ) is a German literary scholar and aphorist .

Life

He took a degree in German literature, history and sociology at the University of Cologne, received his doctorate in 1973 and laid 1974, the first Philological state examination from. From 1974 to 1976 he was a research assistant at the "Critical Kafka Edition" workstation in Wuppertal . In 1977 the second state examination in philology followed. 1986–1991 he was lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service and assistant professor at Yonsei University in Seoul . From 1991–1995 he was employed at the Eichendorff College in Geilenkirchen . 1991–1992 he had a teaching position at the University of Cologne . After working as a freelance scientist in Amsterdam from 1995 to 2001, Spicker lives in Königswinter. 2001–2009 he was a teacher in adult education at the Rhein-Sieg evening high school . He has been a freelance academic writer since 2009.

After the 1st aphoristic meeting in Hattingen in 2004, he began preparatory work to set up a "German Aphorism Archive". In September 2005, together with his wife Angelika Spicker-Wendt, the Angelika and Friedemann-Spicker Foundation was set up to promote aphorism and related small forms through research, archiving and public events. In September 2005 he was a co-founder of the association for the support of the German Aphorism Archive (DAphA) Hattingen, of which he is the 2nd chairman. The opening of the German Aphorism Archive took place on November 3, 2006 as part of the 2nd aphoristic meeting, and since then he has been running the archive on a voluntary basis. He has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Lichtenberg Society and co-editor of the Lichtenberg yearbook since 2007 . On April 27, 2014, he and his wife founded the Aphorism Foundation Spicker-Wendt under the umbrella of the Cologne High School and Foundation Fund .

In his scientific and literary writings, Spicker primarily devotes himself to aphorism and related small literary forms. In addition to independent publications, anthologies (as editor), articles and reviews have also been published.
