Friedemann Walldorf

Friedemann Walldorf (* 1964 in Mainz ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

From 1983 to 1988 he studied theology in Krelingen and at the STH Basel . From 1988 to 1989 he did parish work in the Protestant parish Renningen - Malmsheim . From 1990 to 1995 he worked for the German Mission Community ( Sinsheim ) in Madrid (1991–1994). From 1995 to 1998 he studied at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of South Africa (degree: Master of Theology ). From 1995 to 1999 he was a research assistant at the FTA Gießen (with Hans Kasdorf , missiology ). After receiving his doctorate in 1999 ( Doctor of Theology ) at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of South Africa, he has been teaching missions studies at FTH Gießen since 1999. In 2004 he was awarded the George W. Peters Prize of the Working Group for Evangelical Missiology (AfeM). After his habilitation in 2013 in intercultural theology / missiology at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin , he became professor for missiology and intercultural theology at the FTH Gießen in 2014 .

His main research interests are the recent history of missions in Europe: migration, interreligious encounters, transcultural processes, contextual mission efforts, mission theologies of the present; Hermeneutics and theology of mission in ecumenical discourse, theology of religions; interfaith hermeneutics and popular music and mission; Mission and Art.
