The Friedenseiche is a landscape element in the village of Evestorf in the Lower Saxony municipality of Wennigsen (Deister) . The American Spitzeichen on the western edge of the town was planted in 1913 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig . It stands on the street Zum Rießenfelde on today's playground of the place not far from the confluence of the Bredenbecker Beeke and Wennigser Mühlbach , the origin of the Ihme . At the time of planting, the Rottekuhlen of the place were there.

In 2013, the local council installed an enamelled notice board to mark its 100th anniversary. It bears the text Peace Oak - Planted 1913 on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig .

The Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig is thematically related to the Peace Oak . In 1913, memorial objects to commemorate the Battle of Nations were set in numerous German locations. When the Scharnhorst monument in Wennigsen was inaugurated, fires glowed on many hills around the Deister .

The Schiller Memorial was erected in Hanover 50 years earlier in 1863 .
