Peace park

The Friedenspark is a green area in the center of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein .

In this park is the district fountain of the city of Ludwigshafen, a so-called “ children's paradise ” with leisure facilities for small children and young people.

For pedestrians and cyclists, the Friedenspark is the fastest (and most undisturbed) connection from the city center to the West district.

Surname

Memorial stone

In the center of the park there is a memorial stone with a quote from the former Federal President Gustav Heinemann , which calls to mind the name of the park:

War is not the emergency in which one has to prove oneself - as we heard earlier - but peace is the emergency in which we all have to prove ourselves, because there is no longer any existence behind peace! "

The address of the park is Gustav-Heinemann-Allee in 67059 Ludwigshafen.

District fountain

District fountain

The district fountain is a monument to the individual districts.

It was erected in 1985 by 15 journeyman stonemasons as part of a training symposium of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Guild Association of the Stonemasonry and Sculpture Crafts under the direction of Hans-Günther Thiele and shows characteristics or scenes from the history of the individual districts from the time when they were still were independent communities.

The eight steles at the corners of the octagon correspond to the eight districts, which are grouped around a stone sculpture in the middle, on which the central districts north, middle and south are remembered. In addition, the center is connected to the outskirts by small watercourses.

The people of Friesenheim quickly accepted the Uzname Eulen and that's how TSG's handball players call themselves today. The church fair is also an owlenkerwe .

Children's paradise Friedenspark

The open space of the children's paradise is used for smaller open-air performances. On hot days, however, the mud playground is mainly used. The Kinderparadies Ludwigshafen e. V. offers animation for children and is actively involved in maintaining the children's paradise.

Barbecue and rooms can also be rented here (reserve in good time)

For skate boarders, a facility with a snake run and fun ramp has been set up behind the children's paradise.
