Frieder Schömezler (born February 9, 1952 in Tettnang ) is a former German football player and coach.
career
Schömezler initially played for TSV Tettnang . He played with the team in 1975/76 in the Black Forest-Bodensee amateur league . The people in charge of the Stuttgarter Kickers became aware of the midfielder and signed him. In the following three years he played 70 times in the 2nd Bundesliga South , a goal he was denied.
In 1992 Schömezler was introduced as the new coach after the Kickers' relegation from the Bundesliga and Rainer Zobel's departure to 1. FC Kaiserslautern . However, when the club found itself in the table basement, he was dismissed on August 23, 1992 with only one win and two draws from ten games. From 1996 to 1998 he returned to the club as an assistant coach . When Wolfgang Wolf was released on February 18, 1998, he briefly looked after the team before a successor was found in Paul Linz .
Schömezler is a qualified sports teacher and works at rehamed Stuttgart . In 1999 he was the fitness trainer for the Swiss tennis player Patty Schnyder . In November 2009 the Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 hired him as an athletic trainer together with his colleague Harry Stock. In July 2011 he returned to the Stuttgarter Kickers as a fitness trainer.
