history

The garden villa owes its name to the Dowager Duke Friederike von Sachsen-Weißenfels (1715–1775). After the death of her husband Johann Adolph II , Friederike moved into Dryburg Castle on November 24, 1746 . In 1749 she acquired a civil property in front of the city ​​wall . She built it from 1749 to 1751 as a summer residence with two cavalier houses . She enlarged the garden property and designed it as a baroque garden with a carriage house and stable house .
