Friederikenschlösschen (Bad Langensalza)
The Friederikenschlösschen is located in the town of Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .
history
The garden villa owes its name to the Dowager Duke Friederike von Sachsen-Weißenfels (1715–1775). After the death of her husband Johann Adolph II , Friederike moved into Dryburg Castle on November 24, 1746 . In 1749 she acquired a civil property in front of the city wall . She built it from 1749 to 1751 as a summer residence with two cavalier houses . She enlarged the garden property and designed it as a baroque garden with a carriage house and stable house .
A Tudor style greenhouse was added on the south side in the 19th century . In the back of the garden of the historic standing garden pavilion from 1878. There gushing from a bronze basin sulfur water , which in the spa town of Bad Langensalza as since 1812 medicinal water is used.
Today the palace park is one of the ten most popular gardens in the spa town.
