Friedhelm Fiedler

Friedhelm Fiedler (born October 29, 1948 in Haldern ) is a German manager, a functionary of an employers' association, former journalist and former local politician ( FDP / DPS ).

biography

After school and journalist training, Friedhelm Fiedler completed positions at Axel Springer Verlag in Essen, Hamburg and Stuttgart. In 1980 he became head of politics and later also deputy editor-in-chief of the Baden-Württemberg daily newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichten . In addition to his job, he completed management training at the Business School St. Gallen / Switzerland. In 1985 Fiedler became editor-in-chief and later also a member of the management of the internationally active Motor Presse Stuttgart in Stuttgart. There he was, among other things, editor-in-chief of motorcycle magazine . From 1996 to 2004 Fiedler was editor-in-chief of the Saarbrücker Zeitung . He then worked as managing director and capital correspondent of the correspondent office Berliner Medienservice GmbH .

Since 2006 Fiedler has been a member of the management of the Pro Seniore / Victor’s group of companies from Saarbrücken . Since 2009 he has also been Vice President of the Care Employers' Association with headquarters in Berlin. Large private companies in the care sector in Germany are mainly organized in the employers' association. Fiedler has also been an appointed member of the wage and collective bargaining committee of the Federation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) since October 2015.

Fiedler was also politically active for several years. From 2009 to mid-2014 he was, among other things, head of the FDP city council group in the state capital of Saarbrücken and a member of the district executive. He was a member of numerous committees and supervisory boards. In October 2011 he ran for the office of Lord Mayor in Saarbrücken, although in the event of a victory under the Saarland Civil Service Act, he would not have been able to remain in office until the end of the actual term of office. He was able to unite 6.24 percent of the vote.

In 1984, Friedhelm Fiedler was awarded 3rd place in the Guardian Prize of the German daily press for his article At the Blockade in Möhringen, Psychoterror Ruled . He was also a member of the advisory board and juror of the Franco-German Journalism Award and juror of the Saarland Science Award.

Private

Fiedler is married and has one daughter. He is evangelical.
